Case Study
The Granton Bungalow Transformation





Stage 1: Acquisition
This project began with the purchase of The Granton, a modest single-storey bungalow acquired at auction. Although the original structure was limited in both space and potential, we saw an opportunity to completely transform the property into a luxurious, modern home by utilizing the large plot and securing planning permission for a significant rebuild.
Stage 2: Planning and Permissions
After acquiring the bungalow, we sought and obtained planning permission to extensively redevelop the property. The approval allowed us to almost entirely demolish the existing bungalow and rebuild it into a three-storey, six-bedroom luxury home. This marked the beginning of a bold transformation, shifting from a small, outdated three-bedroom structure to a spacious and opulent family residence.
Stage 3: Construction and Rebuild
Once planning permission was secured, the original bungalow was nearly razed to the ground, and we embarked on constructing a large, three-storey home with a focus on open-plan living and luxurious finishes. The new property was meticulously designed to offer six spacious bedrooms, including an ensuite master bedroom, three bathrooms, and expansive living spaces. The heart of the home is a large, open-plan kitchen and living area, complemented by a second reception room, a utility room, and an outbuilding in the garden for additional functionality.
Stage 4: Garden Landscaping and Finishing Touches
To complete the transformation, we fully landscaped the large garden, creating a beautifully designed outdoor space that complements the grandeur of the house. The garden features an outbuilding, adding even more versatility to the property. High-end finishes were applied throughout the interior and exterior of the home, with premium materials and attention to detail ensuring an exceptional final product.
Stage 5: Project Outcome
The result of this transformation was a stunning, spacious six-bedroom home with three bathrooms, designed for modern family living. The property’s large, open-plan layout, luxurious finishes, and landscaped garden make it a truly exceptional home. The project exemplifies our ability to take a modest, single-storey bungalow and reimagine it into a premium, high-value residence that meets the demands of contemporary living.
